Ah...the 1960's. Mini-skirts, and bell bottoms. Perry Mason and Peyton Place. Frank Sinatra and the Beatles. Don't we miss those days! (Well SOME of us do!) Thanks to the current "Mad Men" craze and Timber Cove Inn you too can relive the glory years with us June 28-30 as we salute our 50th (gasp) birthday! We are 50 and fabulous and can't wait to celebrate that fact with a fun-filled weekend starting with the "Captain Crunch" band playing the sounds of the 60's for listening and/or dancing Friday night in the Sequoia Lounge from 6:00 - 9:00 PM. On Saturday you're all invited to a cocktail party with celebrated mixologist Danny Ronen who will walk us through the history of cocktails from the 1960's all the way through the current fashionable creations found in today's most stylish watering holes. Come in your favorite 1960's "Mad Men" style attire and join a few of the brave staff who also will be sporting some pretty spiffy threads. Stay for dinner and you can enjoy a special retro $50 three course menu for two (tax and gratuity not included) along with the regular Alexander's menu (Actually for the entire month of June). Look for items we found on our original Alexander's menu in 1963 like "Timber Cove Ceviche", and my personal favorite, "Chef's Whim"! On Sunday we will top off the weekend with our first annual "Vintage & Vino" classic car show and wine tasting on the event lawn overlooking the Pacific Ocean and featuring wines from Annapolis, Flowers, Fort Ross, Hirsch and Wild Hog. You may work up an appetite sipping all those great wines but never fear as the brave volunteer firefighters of the Timber Cove Volunteer Fire Department will be on hand to serve up tasty grilled treats. A minimum $10.00 donation per person is required as all proceeds will go to the Fort Ross school and Timber Cove Volunteer Fire Department. So dust off your skinny ties and white gloves and join the party!
