If you are an avid hiker, you have certainly come to the right place to explore beautiful hiking trails in an unrivaled Northern California setting of innate beauty. With unending vistas of ocean, mountains, hills, redwoods, animals, rivers, and more, Jenner’s hiking trails are pristine and matchless. Here is our pick of the most spectacular trails in the area so that all you have to do is figure out which hiking boots to wear and get going!
Timber Cove Inn's Own Hiking Trail
Timber Cove Inn has created a new trail system with picnic tables and park benches that surrounds the property, connecting the hotel to the Benny Bufano obelisk; to Ansel Adams point that provides an incredible vista of the ocean; and down to the new events lawn overlooking the ocean; and back up to the fire ring located just outside the restaurant (also overlooking the ocean).
Armstrong Redwoods
Take a flat easy walk through an old growth redwood forest among stately Sequoia sempervirens. The ancient coast redwood is the tallest living thing on our planet! These remarkable trees live to be 500-1,000 years old. To hike amongst them is a great and beautiful privilege.
Austin Creek
Austin Creek provides an 1,100 foot climb with amazing views of open woodlands, rolling hills and clean meadows. A paradise for the hiker and equestrian, Austin Creek rewards the explorer with twenty miles of trails and panoramic wilderness views and back-country camping. The park's rugged topography, with elevations ranging from 150-1500 feet in elevation, offers a sense of isolation from the accustomed sights and sounds of the busy world.
Lake Sonoma
A hike at Lake Sonoma overlooks the expansive lake is surrounding by regal Sonoma vineyards. More than 40 miles of trails weave through redwood groves and oak woodlands that surround Lake Sonoma.
Bodega Head
Hiking at the outermost point of Bodega Bay, this trail is tempting for those who appreciate whale watching. In spring, the wildflower display is wonderful, and sea breezes usually keep this part of Sonoma County cool even if the rest of the Bay Area is scorching.
Pomo Canyon
Pomo Canyon is an environmental sanctuary offering a striking trail with grand views from a nearby ridge, and it connects with other recreation options, including river and beach sites.
Salt Point State Park
With over twenty miles of hiking trails, six miles of rugged coastline, and an underwater park, you can enjoy a variety of picnicking, hiking, horseback riding, fishing, skin and SCUBA diving, and camping.
